A Solution to Teach Your Kids How to Do Chores -- and Love It Too!
Sunday, June 15, 2008 at 11:52PM It's no secret that I'm no domestic diva.
As you may know, I grew up with a housekeeper -- which means that I never learned how to "keep house."
Thank G-d, I finally found Kathy Peel's Family Manager System. It really taught me what I needed to know...
But beyond learning what *I* needed to know...I'm going to be perfectly honest here...I had trouble teaching my children what THEY needed to know -- because no one ever taught me when I was a child.
It seems to come so naturally for other moms. They seem to know instinctively when to tell their child to clean up and how to teach them how to clean a bathroom, do their laundry etc...
I was CLUELESS...until I found this great solution:
These great little flip books were the perfect visual aid to help me teach my children how to clean their rooms and do various household chores. The basket system actually makes it (almost) fun for my kids to clean up. Seriously, they took to it like a duck to water and I couldn't be happier with my small investment in this product.
Recently they added a Clean and Flip book that teaches kids to do their own laundry and you can get it for when you purchase both books and use the code: FREELAUNDRY.
So...if you're domesticallly challenged, and don't want to raise domestically challenged kids -- stop the cycle and order you clean and flip books to day at:

A Solution For That Inevitable "Can I Come Over?" Phone Call!

Domestically Challenged Sisters -- These are for You!
You know that dreaded moment... It happened to me in synagouge right after my husbands surgery.
A very nice man wanted to visit my husband to see how he was doing and lift his spirits and my first thought was "THERE'S NO WAY I CAN LET HIM SEE THE MESS IN MY HOUSE!!!" I stammered and stalled till I could make an excuse that Aron wasn't ready for visitors yet (Okay, I wasn't ready for vistiors yet!)
For those dreaded moments of being caught in a mess -- here's a great guide to whipping your house into shape in 30 minutes:

I've found the Missing Mom Manual: REAL Solutions for Overwhelmed Busy Moms
Monday, November 5, 2007 at 08:03AM When we were new moms, we all heard it said at least once, "Babies don't come with instruction manuals, you know"
But that didn't stop us! We STILL bought every baby book, hoping for a magic manual, or combination of manuals, to help us get motherhood right, and demystify the learning process of that first year.
As our kids grew, we never stopped reading those parenting books, searching for solutions...
And if you are 'domestically challenged' like me, you probably also kept reading books and magazines, trying to figure out how to keep your home neat, clean and clutter free.
If you grew up with household help, like I did, you may have also assumed, that one person should handle pretty much everything related to housekeeping -- and never got your husband to help or taught your kids to pick up after themselves.
And if you're anything like me, you ended up hating the housework and, yes, a little bit resentful of your family (Even though it wasn't their fault -- they were behaving the way YOU trained them to.)
If you're anything like me, you kept searching and searching for "solutions" that "magic bullet" to make managing it all (almost) effortless! You kept looking for the "Missing Mom Manual" You watched videos, joined flylady, read books on housekeeping and organizing -- and not much changed. You were seeking something that would make homekeeping so simple that it would just "CLICK" into your life (and maybe you could even get your kids and hubby on board)...
And nothing ever "Clicked"
Until now...
Ladies, I started to tell you about this the last time I posted...
And I am still doing a bit of work on it...
But I am so excited that I just wanted to tell you...
Relax Mom. The search is over. I think that I have FOUND "The Missing Mom Manual" That ONE book, that ONE system, that we should ALL be handed the day our chilldren are born.
You all know how I love to find and share solutions -- and I don't take that job lightly either. When I say I have found something this good...I really mean it!
This is NOT another baby book. Rather it will help us manage our home and familes, much more easily THROUGHOUT OUR ENTIRE LIVES.
And I am PROUD to bring it to you...

Family Manager Solutions Finally, a company that really cares about busy moms! Solutions for Dirty & Loud Toilet Seats PLUS a great contest for busy moms.
Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at 08:25AM Bemis, the company that makes cleaning the bathroom a whole lot easier for busy moms, now wants to actually PAMPER US! (I think I'm in love!)
Bemis, in case you don't know about them, created a toilet seat that can be removed in seconds with a simple twist of the hinges. With this Easy•Clean hinge technology, Only two small posts remain on the back of the toilet rim to allow access to the area that would otherwise be hidden by the seat and continue collecting germs. Once cleaning is complete, users can lock the seat firmly back into place just as quickly as it was removed. It also makes redecorating or remodeling a bathroom simple.
Bemis also created Easy•Close seats that eliminate the rude awakening of a startling midnight toilet seat slam and dreaded pain of pinched fingers between the seat and bowl when the seat falls shut. Just as the Easy•Close hinge name implies, with a simple tap forward, the seat and cover easily close, slowly and softly every time.
I just love companies that makes products with moms & kids in mind!
As if that wasn't enough, now they are looking to give some stress relief to North America's Busiest Mom.
When they find the busy mom with the most going on in her busy life, the prize package will include a bundle of rewards and services that will make her life easier. In addition to outfitting the lucky mom’s entire house with Easy•Clean seats, the grand prizewinner will also receive:
- Maid Service - Twice a Month for One Year
- Handy Man Service - Two Full Days Time Over the Course of One Year
- Personal Chef - Twice a Month for One Year
- Massage Therapist/Spa Treatment - Twice a Month for One Year
- Babysitter Allowance - Twice a Month for One Year
Sounds like a dream to me!
Everyone one in the United States and Canada will have a chance to nominate a busy mom or nominate herself, and to make things even better—the winning nominator will receive $1,000! Friends, relatives, kids and even busy moms themselves are invited to submit a 300 to 500 word essay to enter the busiest mom they know at: www.BusyMomContest.com
Ladies, go for it! Nominate yourself. Nominate a friend! Aw heck -- nominate me! :)
Enjoy!
