Sometimes Solutons Aren't Enough...
Friday, December 28, 2007 at 05:09AM I have learned lately that regardless of how many solutions I have discovered, used and blogged about over the last two years...sometimes solutions just arent enough to tame a crazy schedule or extra busy period in your life.
It's been a little nutz around here. My husband had hip replacement sugery, my kids keep getting sick with colds or a stomach flu, or there are snow days or days off of school where I am the sole source of entertainment...it's been a month since I had any significant time to myself...
Mom, I'm sure you know what it can be like sometimes!
"Calgon take me away!" HA!
Anyway, I'm feeling guilty...My poor neglected blog...
And I have not gotten any stress relief gifts out this month -- the busiest, most stressful month of all for many moms!
This is my way of...well...not exactly apologizing...that's just silly...
But saying...I haven't forgotten you...
Don't give up on me! I have GREAT NEW THINGS planned for 2008!
G-d willing, I'll get back to posting more solutions this weekend, or next week (I've got some terrific new ones to review), I'll be sending out those stress relief gifts, and we'll be on our way to a better year with more solutions to simplify, organize and energize your busy life (and mine too)!
Now...where is that calgon?
I've found the Missing Mom Manual: REAL Solutions for Overwhelmed Busy Moms
Monday, November 5, 2007 at 08:03AM When we were new moms, we all heard it said at least once, "Babies don't come with instruction manuals, you know"
But that didn't stop us! We STILL bought every baby book, hoping for a magic manual, or combination of manuals, to help us get motherhood right, and demystify the learning process of that first year.
As our kids grew, we never stopped reading those parenting books, searching for solutions...
And if you are 'domestically challenged' like me, you probably also kept reading books and magazines, trying to figure out how to keep your home neat, clean and clutter free.
If you grew up with household help, like I did, you may have also assumed, that one person should handle pretty much everything related to housekeeping -- and never got your husband to help or taught your kids to pick up after themselves.
And if you're anything like me, you ended up hating the housework and, yes, a little bit resentful of your family (Even though it wasn't their fault -- they were behaving the way YOU trained them to.)
If you're anything like me, you kept searching and searching for "solutions" that "magic bullet" to make managing it all (almost) effortless! You kept looking for the "Missing Mom Manual" You watched videos, joined flylady, read books on housekeeping and organizing -- and not much changed. You were seeking something that would make homekeeping so simple that it would just "CLICK" into your life (and maybe you could even get your kids and hubby on board)...
And nothing ever "Clicked"
Until now...
Ladies, I started to tell you about this the last time I posted...
And I am still doing a bit of work on it...
But I am so excited that I just wanted to tell you...
Relax Mom. The search is over. I think that I have FOUND "The Missing Mom Manual" That ONE book, that ONE system, that we should ALL be handed the day our chilldren are born.
You all know how I love to find and share solutions -- and I don't take that job lightly either. When I say I have found something this good...I really mean it!
This is NOT another baby book. Rather it will help us manage our home and familes, much more easily THROUGHOUT OUR ENTIRE LIVES.
And I am PROUD to bring it to you...
In my next post!

Friday, July 6, 2007 at 07:45PM I can't believe I forgot to blog about this! Back in April I was interviewed by Kellie B. Gomly of The Pittsburgh-Tribune Review for an article called "High Miliage Moms." - I wrote most of the tips at the bottom as well. Here's the link.
I love to know what you think about the article...feel free to leave a comment.
Full Disclosure, Or... 'I hope you'll still respect me in the morning.'
Thursday, July 5, 2007 at 06:00PM You're going to see some more ads on this site and sponsored stuff on this site, and I want to tell you why...
I'm going to be perfectly frank with you. My hubby is out of work right now and, as he is the main breadwinner, every dollar I bring in right now really helps. My main mission remains the same: To bring you useful & unique solutions to help you simplify, organize and energize your busy life. Accepting more ads & sponsorship will help me to continue my work. Think of it as a "finders fee" that I get for seeking out great solutions for you -- only YOU don't have to pay the fee!
As you may have noticed, I've added some ads by Adbright at the bottom left of the nav bar, but clearly marked it as "Sponsored Solutions" (the ad network will fill them in soon) and I'm experimenting with some payperpost stuff - where they pay me to review products and websites for you (which I do anyway!).
Since I'm stepping up how much I am monetizing my site, I wanted to also "step up" my level of disclosure, to be fair to you. You have a right to know. (To see my first disclosure post click here.) So I went over to disclosurepolicy.org, created an "offical" disclosure and got their funky "I disclose" button for my footer and linked it here.
Here is the 'official' disclosure policy generated by disclosurepolicy.org, with a few tweaks from me, of course :)
I hope you'll still respect me in the morning! If not, feel free to let me know!

A Few Terrific Updates On What's New At SolutionsForBusyMoms.com
Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at 06:26AM Ladies,
Allow me to give you a tour of the updated nav bar on the left. That's where you'll find access to all of the new items!
First, you'll notice a sign-up form for the FREE Busy Mom's Stress Relief Kit. So many women love it, I've decided we've got to spread the word about it - right mom? If you click on the picture it will take you to the page that tells you exactly what you get when you sign up, or you can just sign up right in the nav bar.
Below the sign up form, you have the site navigation as usual. The only thing new there is the link to my new "Inspiration For Busy Moms Blog" You may also notice that the link to my podcast is gone. Don't worry, I haven't given up on it, I'm just reconsidering the name -- plus it has said "Coming Soon" for so long, I'd rather just bring it back when it's ready to go. I think you're going to LOVE what I've got planned!
Next you'll notice a link to my recent Mom Talk Radio Interview. Forgive me for my shameless self-promotion. I gotta enjoy my 15 minutes of semi-fame!
The next section reads "Subscribe to the Blogs." In this section you can go to pages to subscribe to each of the blogs (The Solution Blog & The Inspiration Blog) either through email alerts that come right to your inbox OR via RSS Feeds on your favorite FeedReader (Personally, I love using the FREE My Yahoo page as my FeedReader) And you'll also notice a new link to the recent two-part blog entry I did about RSS Feeds & How to Use them. If you've been confused about how to subscribe to blogs, now you can figure it out and set up your own My Yahoo FeedReader by going to this blog entry (FYI, the link to part two is at the end of the first part of the entry.)
Then you'll see a section called "Best Books For Busy Moms." In that section, you'll see a new button that links right to my favorite amazon solutions at my new Amazon Store. Enjoy! And please let me know if you like it, and if there are any books for busy moms that YOU would recommend I add to the store.
Below that, you'll find a link to a pre-written form, that you can customize if you want, to tell your friends about SolutionsForBusyMoms.com & how to get their own FREE Busy Mom's Stress Relief Kit. Please, don't keep the great solutions here a secret! Spread the word and help out a mom-friend! Just input their email address. Don't worry, they won't be added to the Busy Mom's Stress Relief Kit or any other email list, unless the sign up themselves.
Next You'll notice that I've replace the a list of the blog categories with of list of links to my favorite solutions. I really think these are the best solutions I've posted so far.
Finally, you'll find a couple of ads for solutions that I think are really great, including links to my review of these products I've hesitated to put ads on the site, as I don't want to clutter it up (I HATE sites with tons of ads, especiallly when they are not at all relevant to the site), but I've decided to add just a few ads in undistracting places (don't you HATE ads in the middle of an article or blog entry!?!) and only of products I really believe in. To paraphrase Kelly McCausey of WAHMTalkRadio.com AGAIN -- I wouldn't recommend anything to you I wouldn't recommend to my best friend -- and I LOVE my best friend!
And that's it for the tour of the nav bar -- and what's new at SolutionsForBusyMoms.com...
Now..I'm going to get to work on that podcast!
