An Incredible Solution That Helped Me To Eat Better, Dramatically Increase My Energy & Reduce My "Brain Fog"

*Because this is a long blog entry, I have broken it up into 3 parts here. Part 1 Explains the background, and what's been going on with me. Part Two explains some of the details of this solution. Part Three details the different ways that you can learn more.*

Part 1 - The Background:

In the last blog entry, I told you that I have not been blogging -- not only because of my busy life -- but because I just couldn't. I have been extremely fatigued and suffering from "brain fog" Just getting though the day was hard enough. I had no energy to write complete sentences.

To be honest, this situation has been building for a long time. I may be a trained and certified life coach, but to paraphrase an expression which is common in the legal field, "A coach who coaches herself has a fool for a client."

I'm no fool. I know what I *should* be doing. I know I *should* be getting more sleep, exercise and eating better. I know that my certainly SHOULD NOT have ever been gulping down chocolate chips by the handful. I know that I needed to break my addiction to sugar and coffee. And I know that I was feeling lousy and on my way to diabetes, which runs in my family.

And I tried, I really tried to coach myself and do all things I that I *should* do. I had some success, at times, but it was minor, and it never lasted.

I finally hit a wall last month. The fatigue and brian fog were worse than ever.

But, I was lucky. Just a few months before I hit that wall, I heard an interview with Dr. Joel Furhuman on the Gab With The Gurus Podcast. As soon as I heard Dr. Fuhrman discuss "Toxic Hunger", I instantly knew that I was experiencing it. Toxic hunger describes a group of symptoms that occur when your diet is chronically low in nutrients. Toxic hunger begins after a meal is digested and the digestive track is empty. You start to feel shaky, head-achy, weak, get abdominal cramps or spasms, which people believe are hunger symptoms because they are relieved by eating.

That was me.

For a while I had been saying to friends that I felt that I wasn't getting enough nutrients from the food I was eating. And when I tried to reduce the portion size of my food in order to lose weight, I would experience the symptoms of toxic hunger and found that I had to eat more. I tried to stick with healthy food -- whole grains & lean protiens -- but the hunger and cravings kept getting more intense.

In that same interview, Dr. Fuhrman spoke about eating a more nutrient rich diet and that green leafy vegetables were the most nutrient-rich food one could eat. I immediately started eating kale more often and, around the same time was introduced to the wonderful world of green smoothies. I started to feel better.

Then came the Jewish High Holidays.

In short, the schedule of the Jewish High Holidays go something like this:
We eat, We Pray, We sleep. We Eat, We Pray, We Sleep, We eat, We Pray, We Sleep -- most days of week -- for an entire month! And we ain't eating light n' healthy food either.

So right after the holidays is when the real crash and burn started.

But Jewish Wisdom tells us that "G-d Sends the Cure Before He Sends The Illness" -- and so it was.

A series of happy coincidences happened, that made me take a closer look at Dr. Fuhrman's nutritional prescription for a healthy life...and boy am I glad I did. I am finally feeling better and on my way to more health, energy and and leaner body.

Moreover, I have searched long and hard for an eating program that I could wholeheartedly recommend to Moms. I've tried many other weight loss programs including: Somercize, South Beach Diet and Deal-A-Meal. My success on all of these were short-lived and I knew, in my heart-of-hearts that these were fads, and not nutritionally sound.

Part 2 - The Details:

Dr. Fuhrman's eating program is different from all other "diets" out there because instead of focusing on what kind macronutrients to eat, and in what proportions (i.e. Should you eat low carb or low fat? Eat for Health offers a gradual step-by-step transition to nutrient-dense eating, which makes it easy for people who may not be used to cooking and eating nutrient dense food. The book also pays attention to emotional issues that may stand in the way of healthier eating. Book One addresses all the basics while Book Two is made up of the exciting let's-get-to-it stuff: menu plans for each phase in the transition to healthier eating, dozens of new recipes, and information on how to shop.
