How To Survive When Your Baby Or Child Doesn't Sleep Well

Sleep deprived moms - listen up!

This one of the best, yet little-known solutions, I have to offer.

If you do not get enough sleep at night, for whatever reason -- you MUST learn the art of the powernap.

I think it's so vital, it should be taught in prenatal classes!

Why it is to so important for moms to learn how to powernap? It's simple. If you learn how to do it right, you can be re-energized in just 20-30 minutes. It's just what you need to keep up with your active child!  It's better, and healthier than depending on coffee for energy!  It is nontoxic, has no dangerous side effects and is absolutely free.

A Proper Powernap Can Help You:

  • Increase alertness
  • Boost creativity (which you need when dealing with toddlers!)
  • Make better decisions
  • Reduce stress
  • Improve perception, stamina, motor skills & accuracy.

I'm not making this up! Check out these facts!

  • NASA STATES... "An afternoon nap increases productivity by 35% and decision making ability by up to 50%"
  • Organizations such as Nike, British Airways & The US Army ALL encourage napping on the job!
  • Successful people such as Albert Einstein, Lance Armstrong, JFK, Winston Churchill, Thomas Edison,  and Bill Clinton are just a few famous advocates of napping.

Why am I such a strong advocate of powernapping? Well, it pretty much saved my sanity!

My wonderful little boy has NEVER been a wonderful sleeper. And when he was about a year old the sleep deprivation was REALLY taking it's toll. I thought I was going to lose my mind.

It was then that I stumbled on a powernap cd created by a hypnotherapist.  I was desperate. I ordered it. I used it.  I loved it.  I found it made a HUGE difference in my life. If I could just take those 20-30 min -- I'd be refreshed for hours. No more "Monster Mommy!"

I've reviewed that powernap CD here before, but now I have found an even better solution that I want to share with you.

I have tested, and throughly enjoyed the customizable & downloadable Pzizz powernap system.  I love Pzizz because you can  set pzizz to mix specially recorded words, music and sounds to create a unique soundtrack every time you use it's sleep or energizer modules. It's compatible with Windows, Macintosh and can be downloaded to your MP3 player.

Mom, if you're chronically exhausted, surf over to pzizz and check it out. They do offer a free sample.  Try it at http://www.solutionsforbusymoms.com/pzizzpowernap and let me know if you feel refreshed after your powernap.

This is very cool. I'm going to download the samples onto my iPod and try them out. I have one that's a 30 minute sleep meditation called the "Catnapper" and it works quite well, too. I love these because I can fall asleep knowing I'll wake up without sleeping through my day, or having the house fall apart around me! I'm a very sound sleeper, LOL!

Thanks for sharing, Sarah!

Hi...
One honest way for Mothers to have more sleep at night is co-sleeping. Bed-sharing provides 8 more hours of contact with a baby that may not be with Mom during the day. Throughout the night, there may be a few wakeings, but overall it beats a trip to the crib or nursery. I understand that it's a huge parenting choice, but when done safely it's one that your kids will never get angry at you for. The American rush is for kids to learn how to sleep on their own...if taught when they are in a young, non-communicative state they might not get "the message the parent was trying to originally send" then, life goes on and they grow up, and then have to learn how to sleep next to someone (marriage) all over again. The result of bed-sharing...the breaking of the cyclic pattern of many unsucessful American sleepers.

Hugh,

Thanks for your comment. I just want share my experience.

I'm a BIG proponent of attachment parenting and co-sleeping...but it didn't work for me.

I co-slept with my son till he was 7 months old, but it HURT! I always ended up sleeping on my side, because I was afraid to roll over on him. But I have injuries in my shoulders from my sign-language-interpreter days and I WAS IN PAIN! By the time he was 7 months, I had to stop!

I've heard from other mothers too that though you get more sleep, the sleep isn't good quality sleep -- it depends on the individual and if you are a light sleeper, I guess.

It's very individual and powernapping can be useful for all moms, regardless of if you co-sleep or not.

I can't find the samples on the site - maybe they've been removed. If not, can someone please post a link? Thank you!
