The Best Books For New Moms, and First Time Moms-To-Be

I'd like to recommend for books to you that I recommend for ALL pregnant, first time moms. (They also make great gifts for pregnant friends!)

No -- Not What to Expect When You're Expecting. That book is fine, but here are some other ones you may not know about:

This book is the ultimate guide to all of the gadgets that you really need -- and really DON'T need in the baby's first year of life -- AND how to get them at a discount. It's a pretty entertaining read too! I reffered to it MANY times before and after my babies were born -- PLUS it comes out every year or two, so it's alway up-to-date.

This is the only book that I have found that really prepares women for the emotional experience of having a child.  Think of it as the emotional  version of "What to Expect When You are Expecting"  of all of the books that I often recommend to friends, everyone always comments on how this one is so meaningful!

The Happiest Baby On the Block  is an ABSOLUTE NECESSITY if you want to sleep after the baby is born! This DVD teaches you how to trigger your new baby's calming reflex and IT REALLY WORKS. Beg, Steal, Or Borrow a Copy of this one!

Mother Nuture is a must read for ALL mothers of small children.  Read it before you have your baby to learn simple ways to nuture yourself so you can take care of the ones you love!  I love this one because it's not the same old recycled advice you read everywhere else. It's very realistic!

Do you any books that you think should be on this list? Please leave a comment and share your favorite books for new/preganant moms!

I'd like to add that any book by Dr. Sears is excellent for moms who are wanting to go a natural/attachment route in their childrearing.
